General Schedule Specialized Experience: Qualified candidates for this job must show in their resume that they have training or experience in the following area: 1. The knowledge and ability to interpret and apply the rules, regulations and procedures related to the assigned military personnel area, including those covering routine and non routine actions. 2. The knowledge and ability to interpret and apply precedents and resolve complex procedural and substantive problems in processing personnel transactions. 3. The ability to deal cooperatively with others to obtain needed information, to complete required case processing, and to explain decisions or recommendations to interested parties.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).GS-06 and above: One year of experience directly related to the occupation and equivalent to the next lower grade level. Education is not creditable, however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop();
As a Human Resources Assistant you will be responsible for the technical, substantive, and administrative review and coordination of all military personnel staff actions and correspondence directed to the officer Personnel Directorate. You will read, analysis, and review incoming staff actions and determines the OPD organizational element to take primary action, required coordination, and organizations requiring information. You will serve as focal point for correspondence policy in the Directorate. Reviews policy changes from higher authority, and writes implementing directives. You are responsible for the control, administrative processing, and accountability of classified documents in the directorate. You will researches policy pertaining to administration of classified documents. You will serve as Directorate Records Management Officer and Forms Control Officer. Researches policy pertaining to records management and prepares files plans under the Army Functional Files Systems.

About the Position: This position is at the US. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate (EPMD), Alexandria, Va. EPMDs mission is to execute the Armys Enlisted Personnel Management System in support of present and future Army requirements with enlisted soldiers that possess the right skills and experience.
