SWGG07181475R Channel Maintenance Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Click on link below to view qualification standard. General Schedule This is a developmental position target to the GS-11 level. This position may be filled at the GS-07, GS-09 or GS-11 level. Incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade upon supervisor?s recommendation and when eligibility requirements are met and supervisor certifies satisfactory performance. Specialized Experience at the GS-11 level is defined as experience (1) River navigation and channel/harbor maintenance activities such as dredging, snagging, use of closing dams, wing dams and other control structures. (2) Preparing short and long term plans for projects. (3) Organizing and facilitating informational and decision making meetings to include formal presentations, briefings, public speaking and conflict resolution. (4) Preparing letters and other written communication such as technical reviews or informational articles. (5) Conducting independent field investigations and research for projects. Specialized Experience at the GS-09 level is defined as experience (1) Provide general knowledge of river navigation activities. (2) Preparing short and long term plans for accomplishing multi-phased work. (3) Speaking to small groups sat informational meeting to include formal presentations, briefings, and some conflict resolution. (4) Preparing letters and other written communication such as informational articles. (5) Conducting independent field investigations for projects. Specialized Experience at the GS-07 level is defined as experience with (1) Preparing short and long term plans for accomplishing multi-phased work. SWGG07181475R Channel Maintenance Coordinator Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - WI - Throughout Wisconsin MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Performs a variety of planning, investigative and coordination activities necessary in the maintenance of channel and harbor projects. Prepares plans to ensure the availability of dredge material placement sites for dredging projects. Locates sites which are acceptable to all concerned parties. Obtains data needed for evaluation purposes by field investigation and observation, contact with organizations and research. Discusses tentative plans with involved parties. Identifies conflicts and means of resolution. Plans, administers and inspects all aspects of placement site preparation, use and long-term management. Organizes workload based on job specifications, conditions, regulatory requirements and equipment availability. Promotes education and information dissemination initiatives. Management responsibility for channel maintenance improvement projects designed to reduce or control dredging requirements. Serves as field liaison with US Coast Guard and commercial navigation industry.
