JOB SUMMARY:
This re-announces T38 2007-1010EA which originally opened 12-19-07 and closed 12-28-07.Applicants who previously applied will be considered.
This position is assigned to the Office of Director, VAMC Topeka, Kansas.
New appointees to the VA will be eligible to apply for an education loan reimbursement award under the provisions of the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Tour of duty: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Staff Nurse (Systems Redesign Coordinator)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
All individuals applying under this announcement must meet basic qualification standards for appointment as contained in VA Handbook 5005, Part 2, Appendix G6, Section B & C.Section C is to be used for all Nurse appointed before 12/10/99 and Section B is to be used for all Nurses appointed after 12/10/99.This standard is available in the Human Resources Liaison Office for review.Candidates who meet the appropriate requirements contained in the standard will be considered.
Basic Requirements: (1) Citizen of the United States. (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g, this part.) (2) Graduation from School of Nursing: (a) Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accrediting by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant.The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Specialized Education:
Submit copy of transcript.
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
You must submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test before you can be appointed into this position.
You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in Nursing for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
Travel expenses for the interview and, if selected, relocation expenses are not authorized.
Applicants for this position must pass a pre-employment medical examination.

The Staff Nurse is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Eastern Kansas Health Care System Redesign Program.Duties may include but are not limited to:provides support to clinical and administrative systems redesign activity; assures the facility systems redesign plans, objectives and initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities; provides leadership in systems redesign education and communications initiatives; coordinates systems redesign data-mining and reporting and facilitates data driven improvement actions.
