CIS-PJN-166557-PUB WRITER EDITOR QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level. Examples include researching data and preparing documents to effectively transmit information about complex programs and to ensure that the desired emphasis is conveyed; and writing or editing materials tailored to specific audiences in order to promote a thorough understanding of the subject. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Examples include demonstrated ability to develop authoritative information using application of principles, methods and knowledge of written communication through the effective use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, format and editorial markings; and to research methods to develop highly complex and technical speeches and other authoritative, accurate written information on the programs, policies, goals, priorities, andfunction of DHS and its relationships with other organizations, and current issues facing the organizations. Education:There are no specialized educational requirements or substitutions for this position. Requirements U.S. Citizenship: Candidates must be United States citizens and present proof of citizenship, if selected. You will write speeches, talking points, statements, opinion editorials and internal messages for the Director and other high level officials within USCIS and DHS. You will perform research to develop authoritative information to be reflected in written communication covering topics pertaining to the organization's mission, functions, goals, programs, priorities, activities and accomplishments.
