AFPC166859GS-1910-09/09L1 Quality Assurance Specialist QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service. Examples of creditable specialized experience include: a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Related examples follow:Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans.Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system.Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action.Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities.Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections. OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.This education must have had a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR An equivalent combination of specialized experience and education as described above may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices ad procedures.Knowledge of test methods and ability to use test/inspection equipment (e.g. scales, micrometers, comparators).Knowledge of aircraft production and repair methods, inspection techniques and aircraft maintenance processes.Ability to apply sampling methods.Ability to read, interpret and apply specifications and drawings.Knowledge of technical data, such as blueprints, engineering drawings and microfilm.Knowledge of material control processes such as packing, cleaning, preservations, containers, environmental controls, marking and labeling.Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices and procedures.Knowledge of safety and security regulations and procedures.Ability to plan and organize for mission accomplishment.Ability to gather, assemble and analyze quality assurance information, draws conclusions and devises solutions to problems.
