SUPERVISOR: Equipment Concentration Shop Manger
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Incumbent works in motor pool environment around dirt, dust and fumes. Can expect to expand knowledge of maintenance procedures.
ABOUT THIS POSITION/ACTIVITY: Area provides all of the amenities required for easy living. Recreation area include camping, hunting, fishing and swimming.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Trades and Labor Recruitment Bonus and PCS paid Must be new hires to the Military Technician program and must incur a two year obligation within the Department of Defense. Must start on or before 30SEP08.
$3000.00 Recruitment bonus.
PCS paid for the first official duty station.

Specialized Experience: Experience involving the maintenance, repair, and modification of heavy duty vehicles and mobile equipment which have utility systems or special hydraulic pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, features, or controls; i.e., bulldozers, road graders, crawler tractors, power shovels, cranes, locomotives, cranes, large missile transporters, and fire trucks.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Performs repairs on various types of commercial, combat and tactical automotive, engineer, material handling, and powered support equipment. Completes repairs as indicated on work orders and tests to assure no further complications and that work conforms to appropriate standards. Work is accomplished by removing, adjusting or replacing defective or worn parts and components. Replaces seals and shaft sealing rings, horns, wiring harnesses, starting switches, ignition distributors, sensors, fuel and water pumps; adjusts voltage and current controls, engine idles, brakes, transmission linkages; cleans or replaces filters, battery cables, engine components, and injector nozzles. Repairs or replaces components of the cooling, braking, steering, exhaust, power train, or hydraulic systems. Removes or replaces power packs, final drives, road wheel arms and hub assemblies. Operates equipment to check work, moves equipment in and out of the shop, and evacuates equipment to support maintenance.
