About the Position: This position is located at: 99th Regional Readiness Command, ECS 93, Fort Eustis, VA.
This position is under the supervision of the ECS MANAGER
This position offers the opportunity to Serves as the technical and administrative supervisor over an AMSA, ECS, or ASF, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations. Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Trades and Labor Recruitment Bonus and PCS paid Must be new hires to the Military Technician program and must incur a one year obligation within the Department of Defense. Must start on or before 30SEP08.
$3000.00 Recruitment bonus.
PCS paid for the first official duty station.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE: : Experience involving the maintenance, repair, and modification of heavy duty vehicles and mobile equipment which have utility systems or special hydraulic pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, features, or controls; i.e., bulldozers, road graders, crawler tractors, power shovels, cranes, locomotives, cranes, large missile transporters, and fire trucks.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is predominantly performed in the shop area but there may be a requirement to work outside in inclement weather. Inside work is done where it is drafty, noisy, and fumes from vehicles are usually present. Workers must stand on hard surfaces. Outside repairs are sometimes done in bad weather. Worker is subject to minor cuts, bruises, strains, electrical shocks, skin irritants, carbon monoxide, gasoline and solvent fumes. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of this position.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Works on top of or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifts heavier items with the assistance of other workers.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Ability to do the work of the position under normal supervision.Ability to inspect technical work related to this position.Ability to lead employees engaged in technical work related to this position.Ability to lead or supervise employees engaged in technical work related to this position.Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

Assures that material is ordered and delivered to work sites so as not to delay work. Coordinates work of unit with other units that may be involved. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.
