About the Position: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District employs nearly 900 professionals at projects and offices throughout Kansas and Missouri and parts of Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado. General Schedule Specialized experience is knowledge of organizational functions and procedures relating to work accomplishments, budget processes and clerical/administration functions of an organization. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, format and regulations. Skill in operating a word processor. Skill in oral and written communication in order to compile and summarize information/data, identify inaccuracies or anomalies in the information, and make written or oral recommendations to resolve discrepancies based on accurate interpretation of application regulations and procedures. Knowledge of regulations, procedures and program requirements governing property accountability.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.On your resume, please include college/university, dates attended, degree achieved, semester hours earned, GPA, major field of study, 24 semester hours of specific courses and course hours in your major. MAJOR DUTIES:

Serves in various Branch offices within the District. Assists the Branch Chief in the development of the annual operating budget. Tracks accountable property which includes purchase, receipt, transfer, adjustment/disposal of non-expendable property. Serves as POC and back-up for secretaries to re-distribute work to assure work is accomplished expeditiously. Receives phone calls/visitors and incoming/outgoing mail. Prepares various types of documentations and forms incident to personnel administration and office management. Ensures correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization and format of work prepared by self and others. Maintains suspense "due outs". Purchases equipment, supplies and services. Utilizes automated systems to process a variety of transactions (i.e., credit card payments, travel, training, time/attendance and labor records for office personnel).
