WTEV08472940 Medical Support Assistant (Office Automation) Additional Duty Location Info:4 vacancies - AK - Ft. Wainwright MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Receives telephone calls/greets customers. Ascertains the nature of call/visit, obtains identifying information and determines nature/urgency of visitor?s request. Refers patient to appropriate staff member. Verifies patients? eligibility for treatment. Provides information on appointment, clinic hours/services. Refers ineligible customers to Patient Administration Division. Schedules/coordinates appointments with various clinics. Ensures all treatment requested by physician has been scheduled and reschedules appointments. Obtains medical records of customers prior to scheduled appointments. Files x-rays, EKG, etc., in patient's medical record. Records a variety of physicians orders to various charts/data systems, identifying symbols/abbreviations. Assures completion/filing of forms in record prior to being sent to medical records room. Uses typewriter, computer/word processing software/printing equipment to create, copy, and edit documents related to patient/customer treatment.
