The Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory, Tripler Army Medical Center, supports the military's drug deterrence program by analyzing service member specimens for drugs of abuse. WTEW08372440 Medical Support Assistant (Office Automation) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - HI - Tripler, Ft. Shafter, Kapalama and Camp Smith MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); You will perform a variety of receptionist, clerical and record keeping duties associated with patient care and treatment in one or several clinics responsible for a variety of medical services. Receive telephone calls and visitors. Ascertains the nature of call or visit, obtains identifying information and determines the nature and urgency of the patient's request. Refers patient to appropriate staff member. Verifies patients' eligibility for treatment (DEERS check, hospital card, etc.). Schedules and coordinates appointments for patients with various clinics, ensures all treatment requested by the physician has been scheduled and reschedules appointments when necessary. Explains necessary test preparations to patients. Obtains and reviews medical records of patients prior to scheduled appointments. Files results of laboratory results in medical records. You will use word processing software and printing equipment to create, copy, edit and print a variety of standardized documents.
