VG-BW-165070R HEALTH TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level or One full year of graduate education in the related field of the position. Specialized Experience: Qualifying specialized experience in this series ranges widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel in lab design, fabricate, repair, modify and fit a wide range of custom, non-custom prosthetic-orthotic devices prescribed by physicians..Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. VG-BW-165070R HEALTH TECHNICIAN Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - Phoenix, AZ MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); This position is located in the Prosthetic-Orthotic Laboratory within the Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Department, at the Carl T. Hayden VAMC, Phoenix, AZ.He/she in the Lab design, fabricate, repair, modify and fit a wide range of custom, non-custom prosthetic-orthotic devices prescribed by physicians.This position has a high degree of visibility throughout the medical center and the general public as a result of direct patient care contact with the veteran population, many of whom are severely disabled.A display of a positive image on behalf of the VA is critical and required.He/she should be highly motivated to seek ways to expedite patient processing, accomplish the VA mission, and adapt to the ever-changing world of health care.He/she under the guidance of the senior prosthetist/orthotist fits clients with devices prescribed by physicians.He/she measures, fits and repairs appliances, such as corsets, belts, trusses, orthopedic shoes, or simple braces for cases which require standard techniques.He/she utilizes and manages Prosthetic Inventory Package.Analyzes stock levels and usage schedules to determine funds required and execution of budget plans for assigned inventory.Analyzes, coordinate and controls management of assigned items of material. ***RELOCATION EXPENSES AND/OR INCENTIVES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED***
