General Schedule Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of this position, such as:Knowledge of the mission, organization, programs and requirements of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and those of assigned areas.Knowledge of the unique characteristics of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center including facilities, resources, research programs and graduate medical education training programs.Knowledge of regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups and ability to reconcile contradictory requirements in preparing staff recommendations and/or in coordinating clinical and administrative services.Ability to recognize the different functions and motivations of various employees and groups in the health care delivery system and ability to communicate effectively with each in order to gather information, present recommendations, and coordinate services.Ability to analyze problems and present both written and oral recommendations taking into consideration the wide range of factors and requirements which affect the management of the health care delivery system. NCAN07433892DR SUPV HEALTH SYSTEM SPEC Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - DC - Washington MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Clinical Staff Relations: Establishes & maintains close working relationships with professional medical & nursing staff. Provides information to the professional staff regarding the facilities, medical administration, budget, personnel support systems, and logistics support systems of the medical center. Clinical Practice Improvement : Incumbent analyzes clinical practice, and recommends improvements in all areas of the service ie, supply, CEEP and Medcase program. Facilities Management: Monitors & evaluates condition of facilities in assigned areas of responsibility. Financial Mgmt: Incumbent performs comprehensive budgeting functions for assigned services, Under direction of Health System Administrator and in concert with the Service Chief develops operating budget for supplies, equipment, travel & contracts based on workload requirements, current technology & consumption patterns. Works closely with professional medical staff to insure appropriate equipment acquisition practices.
