They also perform regional interface involving the upward coordination of technical policy and budgetary issues which cross district boundaries, as well as interface with many other Federal and state agencies, congressional leaders, interest groups and international commissions. It is in the regional offices where oversight actions for the management, coordination and analysis of various Division-wide programs are performed. The quality assurance role of the regional offices ensures that processes, procedures, and activities performed by the districts result in top quality products and services to Corps customers. WTHE08477527 SUPV CIVIL ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Click on link below to view qualification standard. General Schedule The incumbent develops and applies policies, methods, and procedures related to program management, command and control, regional interface, and quality assurance as they relate to the activities at the lakes, navigation locks, hydropower plants, recreation sites, commercially navigable waterways, Army Permit (Section 10, 103, and 404) program and DoD Real Estate activities with in NWD. Responsible for staff supervision and assistance, coordination, implementation and evaluation of these key programs within the five districts. The geographical area covers all or part of 14 states primarily in the Northwest and Central United States. The effects of these programs impacts the activities in the entire area and facilitates the agency's accomplishment of its primary mission with respect to these programs. The efficient operation of these programs impact not only the region but Corps Headquarters in that HQUSACE is not called upon to to provide assistance or resolve problems. WTHE08477527 SUPV CIVIL ENGINEER Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - OR - Portland MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Works under very general administrative supervision of the Director, Programs Directorate, Northwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who provides broad overall program objectives and policies. Serves as Chief, Program Support Division. Comprehensive delegations of authorities and responsibilities and the requirements of sound engineering principles guide incumbent. Financial management procedures require a high degree of professional judgment on the part of the incumbent. Evaluations, conclusions, and recommendations made by the incumbent have a major impact on the programs of the division and its five districts. Incumbent exercises maximum degree of latitude for independent actions, decisions, and commitments in connection with the analysis and solution of complex issues. The incumbent is held technically responsible for all activities of the Program Support Division and recommendations and decisions are relied upon as being technically sound.
