General Schedule Basic Requirements: Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated: Clinical psychology-- For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. Counseling psychology-- For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants must have specialized experience and/or directly related education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree or one year specialized experience at the next lower grade level. Shafter, Kapalama and Camp Smith MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Functions as a relatively autonomous psychometrician in the administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests routinely given in the Department of Psychology to patients with brain dysfunction (list of tests available on request) or psychological disorders. Records accurate behavioral observations of patients during test administration. May conduct clinical interviews with patients and/or family members and writes summary reports of clinical history and test results. Independently administers, scores and summarizes test results from psychological and neuropsychological tests. Organizes case file in compliance with standards established in the Department of Psychology and under supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist, may write reports summarizing the clinical history and test results with a preliminary interpretation of test results.
