JOB SUMMARY:
The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking a highly qualified applicant to fill our Auditor (Journey Band) position on the Field Financial East Directorate located in Hoboken, NJ. The directorate conducts audits in support of the Board of Governor?s independent public accountant?s overall opinion of Postal Service financial statements. The field financial audits assess the integrity and reliability of the financial information in these statements.The OIG mission is to provide reports to the Postal Service Executives, Governors and Congress to help the Postal Service maximize revenues (approximately $70 billion a year), minimize costs, and prevent and detect fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or in a business related field that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting;or a combination of education and experience--at least 4 years of experience in auditing/accounting to include one of the following: 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality; a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor; completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
· Professional Certification(s)
· Experience in performing complex multi-site (nationwide) audits
· Work experience in financial audits
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
Pre-Employment Drug Test
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
50% Travel
Applicants for this position must pass a pre-employment medical examination.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to pass a physical examination, drug screening, and a background investigation
· Ability to obtain/maintain a government-issued credit card
· May require up to 50 percent travel
