| JOB REQUIREMENTS |

SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong interpersonal, including techniques for positive motivation, handling difficult people and teamwork. Strong instructional computer background in Microsoft Programs, e-mail and internet.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:. Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field and a minimum of two years teaching experience. Must be able to demonstrate classroom management skills and lesson plan preparation. Must
be able to work in a team-based environment and be receptive to further professional development and growth. Must have a clear understanding of the mission and goals of Bridge. Strong interpersonal skills, including techniques for positive motivation, handling difficult people, and team work. Strong instructional computer background in Microsoft programs, email, and Internet.

| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, TASKS |
|
TITLE: Computer Instructor
OFFICE: Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center Bridge Program
LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York
SALARY: $40.00 per hour (9 hours per week)
FUNCTION & SCOPE: Computer Instructor provides skills, instruction and workforce training to assist the Temporary Aid to Needy Family (TANF) & 200% Poverty Population achieve life-long employable skills. Clients participate in educational classes and job search activities.
DUTIES:
•Provide instruction to students in basic computer skills such as email, Internet job search, and software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
•Design and develop basic computer skills curriculum, which will include the creation of course outlines, lesson plans, and examinations. Curriculum will reflect content of software programs.
•Coordinate and communicate with case manager and job developer to provide input regarding student programs to ensure proper job placement.
•Assist in Bridge orientation sessions and respond to questions concerning computer-related curriculum.
•Attend Bridge-related meetings as appropriate
•Explore and share with staff relevant professional development opportunities.
•Participate in appropriate professional development course and conferences and share materials with other staff
•Perform other Bridge-related computer instructional activities as assigned.
