SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Knowledge of 7th ARCOM organizational structure and its mission and functions, along with knowledge of the DES mission, functions, goals, and programs to provide a wide variety of administrative support services. Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and policies that affect administrative operations and areas of responsibility such as security, internal controls, and sensitive but unclassified information. Skill in oral and written communication and ability to apply those skills in coordination with problem solving effort with higher headquarters, DES, and subordinate activities. Skill in using personal computer, electronic typewriter, and various devices such as printers and modems. Fully qualified typist skill is required. Responsible for the day-to-day critical administrative functions, assistance with the personnel security program, supply management, and mail and distribution management in support of the DES. Participates in operational matters and activities as directed. Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates significant projects and activities concerning operations. Serves as commands alternate Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System (WAVES) Coordinator with Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG), the Corps of Engineers (COE), United States Army Reserve Command (USARC), USAREUR G-3, subordinate units and the Mass Notification vendor. Assists in writing the WAVES Connectivity Plan and future maintenance requirements for out-year identification. Serves as the alternate WAVES advising authority in the absence of the DES Manager and the Deputy. Establishes & continually reviews, updates, & develops complex administrative office procedures that affect flow of work within the office & with parties & agencies outside the organization. Evaluates procedures & determines when changes are needed & independently effects the changes. Alternate WAVES Specialist in planning meetings & conferences with USAREUR G3, COE & Staff. Assists in monitoring tasks assigned, records all suspenses & commitments, & follows up to ensure compliance; grants requests for deadline extensions when required. Assists in set up &/or maintaining records, to include hardware & software, inventories, on the status of commands mass notification systems. Assist WAVES Specialist with the application of DOD authorization criteria to the operations & activities of the command's mass notification & prepares or reviews requests for changes in system administrators.
