JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be filled under the provisions of the Management Officials Promotion Plan.
This position is being announced as a GS-332-11.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Current permanent SSA employees of the Wilkes-Barre Data Operations Center and 4100 applicants.

LOCATION:This position is located in the Office of Central Operations, Office of Management and Operations Support, Center for Information Technology, Wilkes-Barre Data Operations Center, Federal Building, 1150 East Mountain Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA18702-7997.
Tour of Duty:Day shift.Fixed shift hours of work are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.Flextime Available.
Type of Position:This position is being filled on a permanent full time basis.
Promotion Potential:This is not a career ladder position; GS-11 is the full performance level.
Supervisory Probationary Period:First time supervisors/managers are required to serve a 1-year probationary period.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Must be met by the closing date of this announcement:
For GS-11: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Specialized experience is experience in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled which has equiped the applicant with the particular knowledges, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.Examples of specialized experience are knowledge of the procedures pertaining to computer systems operations; experience with computer and related equipment; and the knowledge necessary to plan, direct and track effectiveness of activities to ensure optimal performance.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: Substitution of education for general and specialized experience will be made in accordance with the OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.As a general rule, education is not creditable for this grade level.

Supervisory Computer Operator,
GS-11 PD#28C31S.
Plans, directs, coordinates and manages the overall workload processing and provides supervision and guidance to GS-8 Computer Operators and GS-9 Team Leaders in the Center for Information Technology, Systems Operations Team, on three shifts. The team is responsible for processing electronic data records/files through application programs for large-scale computer systems comprised of a highway of networks, processors, storage devices, workstations, high speed and desktop scanners, and communication equipment. Performs analytical duties requisite to planning, directing, coordinating, evaluating, and improving activities. Sets priorities and prepares schedules and/or timeframes for completion of projects through leads.
