This involves developing and executing the budgets, and developing the policies both for within the Government and regulations which must be followed by the general public.Knowledge to evaluate and issue permits involving wetlands and navigable waters of the US. There is significant coordination with Federal agencies such as EPA.Knowledge of the Flood Control and Coastal Emergency Program which provides inspections for all types of flood control projects not operated and maintained by the Federal Government.Ability to provide for responses to natural disaster in the US and its territories. NCFL08895634R Supervisory Biologist Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - DC - Washington MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Position serves as the Deputy Chief, Operations and Regulatory Community of Practice. Participates in the direction, through subordinate supervision of a sizeable work operation involving thirty employees engaged in professional, technical and administrative work. Based on knowledge of various disciplines, incumbent assists the Chief in exercising functional responsibility for the following: operation and maintenance Civil Works projects, to include navigation facilities, flood control, channels and harbors, recreation, hydroelectric power, and regulatory operations. Incumbent represents the Corps in dealing with complex issues and policies. Attends meetings with Division and District Commanders, other Federal agencies and state and local organizations with the authority to make final decisions regarding complex and important matters. As Deputy Chief, directs the work of subordinates in the Dredging Operations, Regulatory, Natural Resources, & Asset Management elements.
