Defense Finance & Accounting Service Sub Agency: Operations Directorate, Disbursing Operations Job Announcement Number: NS-0039-09 Supervisory Accountant SALARY RANGE: 66,924.00 - 109,706.00 USD per year Salary includes a substantial compensation package. Salary range represents the pay band range of the position being filled including the Local Market Supplement.OPEN PERIOD: Sunday, November 30, 2008 to Monday, December 08, 2008 SERIES & GRADE: YC-0510-02/02POSITION INFORMATION: Permanent-Full Time-Day Shift. Management has the discretion to set pay anywhere within the salary range, dependent upon the applicant?s qualifications and the availability of funds. PROMOTION POTENTIAL: 02DUTY LOCATIONS: 1 vacancy - Cleveland, OH WHO MAY BE CONSIDERED: DFAS permanent civilian employees. JOB SUMMARY: This position is covered by the National Security Personnel System (NSPS).This position is in the Standard Supervisory/Managerial Group.For more information on NSPS, please visit the website at http://www.cpms.osd.mil/nsps/index.html. The NSPS performance appraisal cycle is October 1 to September 30 with individual performance payouts occurring the following January. If hired into this NSPS-covered position from another personnel system (non-NSPS) between July 4 to September 30, you will NOT be eligible for the NSPS performance payout the following January; you will receive a base salary increase equivalent to the Government-wide general pay increase (GPI) as well as any applicable local market supplement. Examples: (a) Employee is hired into a NSPS position effective June 30, 2008.Employee is eligible for a NSPS performance payout in January 2009; (b) Employees hired into a NSPS position 2008, but effective after the July 4, 2008, performance cycle cutoff will be eligible for their first performance payout in January 2010. NS-0039-09 Supervisory Accountant QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, one year of professional accounting experience at the next lower pay band or equivalent under the General Schedule (GS) or other pay systems is required.Applicants must meet the specialized experience to be considered for referral.Examples of specialized experience include:Providing professional accounting services to supported organizations. Reviewing and analyzing a wide variety of accounting documents, reports, policies, and procedures pertaining to multiple appropriation accounts within one or more accounting systems or subsystems.Experience may have included tasks such as preparation, examination, analysis, presentation and interpretation of accounting data, records, and reports, and resolving a variety of accounting problems. Resumes will be evaluated to ensure your experience, knowledge, skills, training and/or education meet the qualifications requirements stated in this vacancy announcement.
