WHAT DOES A SENIOR INTERNATIONAL EXAMINER INTERNAL REVENUE AGENT/LEAD INTERNAL REVENUE AGENT DO? As a Senior International Examiner Internal Revenue Agent in LMSB, you'll: - Serve as a focal point or primary representative to coordinate the International aspects of identified cases.The cases will be Coordinated Industry Cases that qualify for this position. International Examiners must consider the entire tax implications of international transactions and by leading the team in identifying the parameters of a viable solution. 09PH4-LMB0193-0512-14-AP IRA SR INT'L EXAMINER - TEMP NTE 1 YR ** 12 MONTH ROSTER** QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: To qualify for this position: You must meet the TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:Under merit promotion procedures, Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the position announced to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions contained in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. Basic qualifications Applicants must be qualified by the cutoff date of the quarter in which they are applying.If you are found ineligible for that quarter, you must re-apply to be considered. Knowledge of business and trade practices to develop tax issues based on analysis and evaluation of overall business operations and financial condition.Knowledge of corporate financial transactions and financial management principles and practices.Skill in interacting effectively with a broad range of internal and external individuals. THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE All phases of IE training (1,2,3 or or equivalent predecessors unit!), completed at least one full audit cycle & prepared a CIC international report.Extensive experience as an international examiner preferred. Applicants must also meet the Selective Placement Factor for the GS- 512 occupation which requires that you possess the following 5 professional accounting knowledges: - Knowledge of Principles of Accounting - Knowledge of Intermediate Accounting - Knowledge of Cost Accounting - Knowledge of Advanced Accounting - Knowledge of Auditing These knowledges are typically acquired by completion of an accounting degree from a four-year college or university or through work experience.For example, an internship at an accounting firm may have exposed you to accounting theories and principles, provided that internship was doing professional accounting work. - HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: BackToTop(); If you are eligible and qualified, your application will evaluated by a panel of subject matter experts and rated and ranked based on your resume, current performance appraisal (Form 6850) and relevant awards received within the past three years, in accordance with National Agreement, Article 13 procedures.
