Works in the Cardiology Clinic, a busy outpatient division which offers a full range of Cardiovascular services.Functions as a manager and team member of a collaborative healthcare team in the delivery of subspecialty Cardiology care.This includes the evaluation of patients with complex cardiovascular issues in the outpatient and inpatient settings, duty doctor responsibilities, which include reading of electrocardiograms, interpretation of exercise stress tests, holter/event monitors and electrocardiograms, and house staff supervision and training.Spends a majoring of time performing clinical duties in the outpatient clinic, as well as fulfilling the clinic 'Duty Doctor' requirements.Shares inpatient call with Military Staff Cardiologists.Performs invasive procedures, such as cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, device implantation and cardiac interventions at the discretion of the Cardiology Department Head.Performs administrative duties, which include, but are not limited to, documenting outpatient clinic visits in the outpatient electronic medical record and documentation of impatient visits in the inpatient electronic medical record system.The selectee may function as the attending physician for the Cardiology Clinic, Inpatient Cardiology Service and the Inpatient Cardiology Consult service.Serves as a consultant to other clinics in the specialty of Cardiology which includes, but is not limited to, pre-operative evaluations, inpatient cardiology consults to other service lines (i.e., Surgery Service, Operative Care Service, etc), and Emergency Room follow-up consultations.Maintains active, ongoing outpatient clinic schedule in the clinic in which working.The selectee may function as a preceptor for Internal Medicine trainees assigned to the clinic or ward(s).
