JOB SUMMARY: DUTIES: The position of Staff Psychologist will focus on the assessment and treatment of the behavioral and psychological aspects of acute and chronic pain, within a patient-centered and interdisciplinary model, including facility with common co-morbidities, including PTSD, substance use disorders, sleep disorders, depression, and traumatic brain injury, as well as behavioral management of adherence issues with regard to the specialized pain needs of the OIF/OEF veterans. Will provide consultation and education to primary care providers and enhance continuity in care management outside the primary care clinic with regard to the specialized needs of the OIF/OEF veterans with regards to managing pain and enhancing functional and effective participation in their social, vocational, and learning communities despite ongoing pain. 528F-09-072 Psychologist QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Citizenship:Citizen of the United States. Basic Requirements for all grades: 1.Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university whose curriculum is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA), and have completed a full curriculum in clinical or counseling psychology pertinent to the position being filled and a 1-year internship accredited by the APA. 2.Licensure- Must be licensed or certified as a psychologist in a state. Experience:In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must have professional psychologist experience as specified below: GS-13: Two years of post-doctoral experience appropriate to the specialty area of the position. For the clinical and counseling specialties, the experience must have been gained in a professional program concerned with mental health, health psychology, rehabilitation, or vocational restoration.
