Department of Defense (DoD) directives, the human resources system at Tinker Air Force Base has now converted to the new National Security Personnel System (NSPS).Affected positions are classified under a Pay Band (01, 02 or 03) instead of a General Schedule (GS) grade level.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant’s graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).];
Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training.(NOTE:Graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada);

Licensure: Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.(NOTE:Candidates selected will be requested to furnish proof of current license to the appointing officer before entry on duty);

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above, applicant’s must also have three years of graduate training or equivalent experience and training, to include one year of appropriate experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (grade level, pay schedule, pay band, etc.) in the federal service.
The description of your work experience in your application (OF-612, or other acceptable written format) must clearly demonstrate that you have gained and currently possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the duties of the positions being filled:
1. Knowledge of professional Family Medicine practices, principles, and theories to carry full responsibility for medical care of a wide range of illnesses and injuries;
2. Ability to utilize clinical path guidelines and coordinating with facility and community resource/referral systems to provide multi-disciplinary comprehensive care to all types of patients;
3. Knowledge of and the ability to use emergency medical procedures, to include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support;
4. Knowledge of universal infection and control guidelines and practices;
5. Skill in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions to include but not limited to:diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, asthma, arthritis, cancer, extremity injuries, and psychiatric/psychological disorders;
6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
7. Ability to guide, train, and mentor paraprofessionals, clinical nurses, and ancillary support staff.

Possible increase in annual leave for prior work experience.
Incumbents may share on-call duty during weeknights and/or weekends and/or holidays on a rotational basis as required consistent with other physicians of the same specialty performing like duties.
Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve “after hours” care or work in addition to regular clinic hours.
Positions require Basic Life Support and current satisfactory completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training and Pediatric Life Support.
Incumbents may be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
Positions identified as having “regular contact with children” requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person(s) selected for the positions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work requires some standing and walking.Also requires that incumbent be in good health in order to be able to perform strenuous life-saving measures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as needed.Additionally, incumbents must be of sound physical, emotional and mental health and must not have any significant medical or mental health problems that could affect work performance.
TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION:This position has been designated by the Air Force for drug testing.Candidates selected for positions may be subject to urinalysis prior to appointment and will be subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.

Serves as the Primary Care Optimization team leader providing comprehensive outpatient care for over 1,500 TRICARE Prime enrolled beneficiaries, as well as TRICARE for Life and for space available beneficiaries ranging from newborn to geriatric age presenting with complex and interdependent acute and chronic conditions.Provides Pre- and Post-Deployment health assessments as well as Preventive Health Assessments.Addresses, manages, and documents medical issues pertaining to the Personnel Reliability Program, Security Clearances, Overseas Clearances, Pre-Confinement evaluations, Line of Duty Determination, and Occupational and fitness for duty medical evaluations – all of which will be performed for active duty, reserve, and National Guard members as well as eligible civilian, DoD, and dependent beneficiaries.
Provides direct primary outpatient care to include gynecologic, pediatric, and geriatric care.Performs ambulatory surgical procedures including but not limited to:casting/splinting, suturing, excisional skin biopsies, vasectomies, and flexible sigmoidoscopies.Orders and interprets diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examination.Ensures appropriate follow up and documentation of all clinical and diagnostic procedures in accordance with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and Health Services Inspection (HIS) guidelines.Independently formulates full treatment and management regimens based on sound diagnoses consistent with current and/or evidence based clinical practice guidelines.Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide multi-disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients, taking into account factors such as new and/or emerging procedures and techniques and the patient’s personal history, as well as information gained through diagnostic tests.Documents clinical encounters and patient instructions into the medical records via current electronic medical record system and prepares appropriate clinical narrative summaries for both civilian and military occupational programs in a timely manner.
