Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

Position Status: This announcement may be used to fill temporary full-time, part-time or intermittent positions. Indicate on your resume your availability for any of these appointments.
About the Position: THESE ARE TIME-LIMITED APPOINTMENTS. THEY ARE NOT PERMANENT.
These are DCIPS Excepted Service positions. Employees hired on time limited assignments of over one year will receive benefits and be deployed by Temporary Change of Station (TCS). Assignments are extendable up to four years. This announcement may also be used to temporarily fill positions by detail of present federal employees.
These are combat support jobs that substitute military personnel that cannot presently be supplied by the services. You are expected to perform military intelligence tasks as close as possible to what would be expected of military. To be successful in these positions, you will need to: (a) know your job; (b) be aware of your surroundings; and (c) be flexible in accepting new tasks and innovative in their accomplishment.
Generally, you will work 12 hour days, 7 days a week.

DCIPS Qualifications DUTIES (continued): The DOCEX Analyst/Linguist exploits captured and open source documents utilizing analysis skills. The Signal Analyst supervises and performs analysis and reporting of intercepted foreign communications at all echelons. The Cryptologic Linguist performs and supervises detection, acquisition, location, identification, and exploitation of foreign communications. The ELINT Interceptor/Analyst performs and supervises detection, acquisition, location, identification, exploitation, and reporting of foreign ELINT. The Interrogator conducts interrogations and debriefings in English and foreign languages, prepares and edits tactical interrogation reports and intelligence information reports. Performs translation and exploitation of captured enemy documents and foreign language publications. Screens, assesses and interrogates enemy prisoners of war, enemy deserters, and civilian detainees. The MASINT/ASI serves as Subject Matter Expert for Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) production/dissemination/requirements. Uses extensive knowledge of the MASINT/AGI programs to assist in the validation, submission, and satisfaction of MASINT/AGI requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Equivalent Army Military Titles and MOS: Intelligence Analyst, 96B/96Z; Imagery Analyst, 96D; HUMINT Collector/Interrogator, 97E; CI Agent, 97B; DOCEX Analyst/Linguist, 97L; Translator/Interpreter, 97L; Signal Analyst, 98C; Cryptologic Linguist, 98G; ELINT Analyst, 98J; Electronics Intelligence Intercepter/Analyst, 98J; Signals Collector/Analyst, 98Y. Experience in MI in other services, whether enlisted, warrant officer or officer, could also be qualifying. Applicants with military experience will be evaluated on the recency of holding an applicable MOS and rank, on experience while in the military, on completion of required military training and on additional knowledge, experience and education obtained out of the military.
The salary listed above includes base pay and additional compensation that MAY include a 10-35% foreign post differential; 0-35% danger pay; substantial overtime, and a recruitment/retention/relocation incentive. Base pay for these positions is $33,477 to $64,403.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Some positions may require fluency in and/or knowledge of indigenous languages.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: GENERALLY TS/SCI BUT SOMETIMES SECRET CLEARANCE SUFFICIENT. Candidates with current clearances or have a past clearance that can be immediately reinstated will have preference.
PREMIUM PAY AND TOTAL PAY CAPS APPLY. All compensation earned by a civilian employee of the government while deployed is taxable.
LIVING AND WORKING CONDITIONS: You will be required to deploy overseas on TDY or TCS and share living and working conditions with military personnel.
REST AND RECUPERATION LEAVE PROGRAM: Incumbents serving on appointments over one year are eligible for CENTCOM's Rest and Recuperation Leave Program.

The Intelligence Analyst, supervises, performs, or coordinates the collection management, analysis, processing, and dissemination of strategic and tactical intelligence. The Imagery Analyst, supervises or analyzes aerial and ground permanent record imagery developed by photographic and electronic means. The CI Agent supervises and conducts CI investigations of individuals, organizations, and installations, and activities to detect, identify, assess, counter, exploit and neutralize threats to national security. Performs threat intelligence collection assessments. The HUMINT Collector supervises and conducts tactical HUMINT collection operations that include, debriefings, interrogations and elicitations in English and foreign languages for positive intelligence and force protection information; screens HUMINT sources and documents.
