The Large and Mid-Size Business (LMSB) Internal Revenue Agent is a professional accountant who examines and audits individual, business, and corporate tax returns to determine correct federal tax liabilities and conduct examinations relating to compliance with technical requirements imposed by the Internal Revenue Code.LMSB Internal Revenue Agents are challenged everyday.Challenges come in the form of research and developing issues and in communications with taxpayers. WHAT DOES A SENIOR COORDINATED EXAMINATION PROGRAM (CEP) TEAM COORDINATOR DO? By nature, coordinated examinations are the most difficult and complex examinations encountered, which typically are of the largest national corporations which may have international features in the United States. A few of these cases, approximately 100-125 nationwide, require significantly greater knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively coordinate the team examination.Providing technical and procedural guidance while effectively resolving issues arising from the examination the Senior CEP coordinates the progress of the team to carry out the mission of the Internal Revenue Service. 09PH4-LMB0376-0512-14-AP IRA SR CEP TEAM COORDINATOR (TEMP NTE 1YR) **12 MONTH ROSTER** Additional Duty Location Info:many vacancies - New York City, NY MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); As a Senior Coordinated Examination Program Team Coordinator your duties include serving as the coordinator of a team of revenue agents, specialty examiners (International, Engineer, Computer Audits, etc.), and support personnel.Exercising input regarding items to be examined and authority in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling the overall progress of the examination among team members.Developing the audit plan with the Case Manager and making assignments to team members.Conducting pre-examination conference with the taxpayer and/or the taxpayer's representative to advise on the scope of the examination and reach agreement on logistics.Discusses and resolves problems with the taxpayer as they arise.Coordinates the overall progress of the team techniques; i.e. holding team meetings, attending conferences held by team members, and evaluating the impact of adjustments.Providing technical and procedural guidance to team members during the examination.
