09-35 (MP) Information Technology Specialist (Internet) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project. Selective Factor: Candidate must have demonstrated experience creating, designing and managing Web sites in a Microsoft environment. The candidate has experience installing, administering, using, and creating sites with Microsoft Office SharePoint 2003 or 2007. The selective factor must be met to be eligible for this position. You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position. You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position. You must meet time-in-grade restrictions by the closing date of this announcement. Knowledge of graphical design concepts as applied to Web development utilizing graphic tools such as Adobe Photoshop and video editing tools; skill in capturing, handling, processing, and compressing graphics, images, and videos. Ability to setup and install Internet services and architecture in an environment using Microsoft Operating Systems (OS), Internet Information Services (IIS), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), video streaming tools, certificates, and encryption. Ability to manage projects in web development involving technical staff and non-technical customers. Skill in written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical staff.

09-35 (MP) Information Technology Specialist (Internet) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - Washington DC Metro Area, DC MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Designs and manages Internet, Intranet, and Extranet sites for PSA programs and functions. Designs site interfaces, navigational metaphors and other aids for use on the web. Configures, directs the installation of, and maintains Internet and Intranet Web servers; configures and oversees the installation of required tools and technologies. Identifies and incorporates information appropriate for the intranet and develops systems and procedures for regular maintenance, update and evaluation of the web portal using content management tools such as MS Office SharePoint Server or MS Visual Studio. Interacts with development teams and users in the development of custom code, web parts, and database interactivity while maintaining the stability of the shared platform. Evaluates PSA strategic and business plans affecting Intranet/Internet systems and recommends plans to address these requirements. Serves as Contracting Officer?s Technical Representative (COTR), responsible for management of contractors providing service in Web management.Evaluates performance and assures adherence to contract requirements. Serves as leader of teams to perform studies or special assignments. Maintains state-of-the-art awareness of developments and trends in both the federal and private sectors in areas of responsibility.Identifies and applies new technology and approaches in Intranet/Internet design and management.
