This is an open continuous announcement for the Office of Information and Technology, Field Security Operations in Washington DC, open for one (1) year.Referral certificates will be issued as vacancies occur during this announcement period.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Qualification requirements are in accordance with the Individual Qualification Standard for Information Technology Management Series, 2210 (Alternative A), which is available for review at the Human Resources Office.

Experience:
GS-14 – Must have one year IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies:

Attention to detail:Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to review data from multiple sources and determine relevant information to a given situation. Applicant must be able to draft, edit and disseminate written reports and status updates that are factual, timely and relatively error free.

Customer service:Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to interact with and resolve issues pertaining to customers of all grade levels within the Department. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to serve as a liaison with other federal agencies and business partners.

Oral communication:Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct briefs for executive management. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to speak clearly and concisely. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to translate highly technical terms and issues into layman’s terms. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to coordinate resources from multiple levels of an organization.

Problem solving:Applicant must be able to proactively identify problem areas and conduct an initial analysis into the severity. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with little guidance or oversight.

AND

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level.Specialized experience is experience that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled.This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where I conducted risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.I have reviewed and modified systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures and participated in network and system design to ensure the implementation of appropriate systems security policies at each facility assigned.Other examples of specialized experience include conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews; gathering and reporting security information for compliance purposes; assessing facility security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions; and facilitating analysis and preservation of evidence used in the prosecution of computer crimes.

GS-14:Must have one year time-in-grade at the GS-13 grade level.
