|
JOB SUMMARY Director of the Educational Resource Center (ERC) at the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB). Develops an organizational system for the ordering, production, distribution, and management of accessible instructional materials. Oversees two instructional materials programs: the Educational Resource Center (ERC) and the Utah State Instructional Materials Access Center (USIMAC). Collaborates with Utah schools to ensure that all students have access to textbooks and other specialized instructional materials and equipment in a timely manner. Manages and maintains library management software and textbook ordering software. Demonstrates proficiency with current technologies used for accessibility and/or publication. Participates in exploration and innovation of accessibility and/or publication technology. Prepares and presents written and oral reports. Communicates effectively with various stakeholders, including USDB staff, Utah State Office of Education staff, school district and charter administrators, parents, community members, Utah State Board of Education, and the Utah state legislature. Supervises staff through program evaluation, program improvement, and employee performance evaluation. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse staff to develop cohesive teams. Oversees the production of instructional materials in multiple formats, including braille, large print, digital, and audio. Develops standards, policies and procedures, and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
